On behalf of the Department of General Surgery 1, IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Pavia, Italy, we are pleased to invite your institution to participate in the multicenter prospective observational study:

“ProBEISAP: Procalcitonin Enhancing BISAP for Early Identification of Severe Acute Pancreatitis – A Multicenter Prospective Study.”

The study, led by Prof. Luca Ansaloni, aims to evaluate whether the addition of serum procalcitonin (PCT) to the BISAP score improves the early prediction of severe acute pancreatitis.

The study is purely observational and does not require any procedures beyond standard clinical practice. Participating centers will collect routinely available clinical data through a dedicated eCRF. The study protocol is attached for further details.

The study has received local Ethics Committee approval and is ready to start enrollment.
