WSES is presiding over a symposium about post-operative infections in the 30th European Annual Congress on Surgical Infections that will be held in Hamburg in June 8-9, 2017. The Congress, organised by the Surgical Infection Society Europe (SIS-E), points out on “Tradition and Future”, to underline how the tradition of the society meets the future of surgical infections.
Over two days, the congress programme will update participants with insightful presentations and Pro-Con debates by experts in the field of surgical infections. WSES members are debating about “The role of the surgeons in combating infections in surgical patients” and “Appropriate use of antibiotics in patients with intra-abdominal infections” with an excursus about AGORA project. Moreover WSES Dublin Open Abdomen Consensus Document will be presented during the symposium.
The collaboration between WSES and SIS in intended to improve the awareness about preventing and treating surgical infections.
