The WSES Fellowship on Gastrointestinal Emergencies Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery is sponsored by the scientific board of the WSES with the aim of providing to resident surgeons a training experience in laparoscopic approach of surgical gastrointestinal emergencies, trauma care, and robotic surgery.
The WSES fellowship is held in the Unit of General Surgery and Liver Transplantation of the University Hospital Henri Mondor of Créteil, France and in the Emergency Surgery Dept Parma University Hospital ITALY, over a 6-month period under the supervision of Dr N. de’Angelis and Dr F Catena. One fellow per period is accepted. The WSES fellowship comprises both an academic program (e.g. lectures, multidisciplinary staff) and a clinical/surgical activity.
Timeline
1st session: 1 November – 1 May (deadline for application: 1st October )
2nd session: 1 May – 1 November (deadline for application: 1st April)
Eligibility
WSES fellowship candidates must fulfill the following requirements for application:
- Age < 35 years
- Resident surgeons in general or digestive surgery
